Prof. Fouad BenAbbelaziz's Visit to IEM Department​

Prof. Fouad Ben Abdel Aziz was a visiting scholar in the IEM department during Spring 2018, gave a seminar for IEM faculty and led a workshop for EM graduate students.

He is currently Professor and head of the MSc in Supply Chain Management at NEOMA Business School, France. He was a Senior Fulbright scholar at the Rutgers Center for Operations Research, Rutgers University, NJ. He received his PhD in Operations and Decision Systems from Laval University, Canada. He has been working at the American University of Sharjah, The American University of Beirut and the University of Tunis. He is a leading researcher in multi-objective stochastic optimization and Multi-attribute portfolio selection problems. Aside from his publications in outstanding journals like EJOR, JORS, IJAR, FSS, and CAIE, he served as Guest Editor for European Journal of Operations Research and Fuzzy Sets and Systems. He was also the chair and the organizer of many international conferences as the Multi-objective and Goal Programming Conference MOPGP and the International Conference on Multidimensional Finance Investment and Insurance ICMFII.

Professor Fouad Ben Abdelaziz's talk was about Multiobjective Stochastic Optimization for Portfolio Selection, during which he presented ways to transform the Multiobjective Stochastic Optimization Problem -MSP- into a Deterministic Optimization Program -DP. Dr. Abdelaziz also discussed the meaning and implications of each transformation in the decision-making process. ​
