The Project Deliverance and Contracts course is a core fundamental course tailored for fresh graduates and working professionals interested in developing their project management skills in the construction field. Coupling live sessions with online lectures, the course is designed to be interactive & engaging with real-life applications from the fields of construction, real estate, infrastructure, and buildings.


The course focuses on the various approaches that may be suitable for the delivery of large construction projects. It covers the aspects of contracts formation, completion, close-out, and project organizational structures. It particularly aims at understanding the risks inherent in the undertaking of large projects and sheds light on how certain identified risks can be addressed through the proper formation of project contracts.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for this course, applicants should have an undergraduate bachelor's degree in engineering (BE or its equivalent), Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Physics, Statistics, or other related fields. Other Bachelor degree holders are welcome to apply and will be assessed based on their proficiency in project management and their work experience.

Dr. Asem Abdul-Malak is a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the American University of Beirut. He​ earned his PhD from the University of Texas – Austin. He is an expert in Project Risks and Management, Contract Administration, and Disputes Resolution.

Dr. Farah Demachkieh is a Lecturer and Researcher in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the American University of Beirut, and a Contract Specialist at Dar Al-Handasah.
