October 2021 witnessed the announcement of the partnership between LinkedIn Learning and the American University of Beirut (AUB) at the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA) offering LinkedIn Learners who completed their online path the opportunity to gain official academic credit from AUB.
A great alternative to the traditional classroom, LinkedIn Learning online platform provides a personalized learning experience that helps professionals learn relevant skills and achieve their goals. It provides nearly 17,000 up-to-date courses in seven different languages with an engaging, intuitive, and personalized learner experience. These industry-leading courses are developed by experts and tackle the best and the most in-demand skills in the job market, such as data science, graphic design, digital marketing, project management, data science, digital transformation, and leadership.
The collaboration between LinkedIn Learning and AUB will qualify students who completed their Learning Path on LinkedIn Learning to enroll in a 3-credit course, for which LinkedIn content is recognized as prior learning so that only an exam is required to complete the course. This partnership will offer a wide variety of paths that will help students uplift their skills in engineering management and electrical and computer engineering along with the assistance and supervision of remarkable and experienced experts.
In light of the shared commitment of LinkedIn and AUB to increasing access to high-quality education, MSFEA will provide support to students and cover the fees for the 3-credit course, enabling underprivileged graduates to access educative, professional, and skill developing courses.
Ali Matar, the head of LinkedIn MENA and EMEA Emerging Markets, said: “We're proud to partner with the American University of Beirut to open up new routes to education through our accredited LinkedIn Learning courses. As the world becomes increasingly digitized, continuous skills development takes on a whole new level of importance. Offering people alternative routes to skills and education - at any point in life - is crucial to helping them to upskill and reskill as the world around us changes. We know this path to education will be a huge benefit to many, and we look forward to expanding our education partners to offer more people this opportunity in the future."
Dr. Issam Srour, director of Abdulla Al Ghurair Hub for Digital Teaching and Learning and associate professor in the department of civil and environmental engineering at AUB, commented: "We are pleased to partner with LinkedIn to offer professionals a unique chance to pursue lifelong learning opportunities. The partnership provides LinkedIn learners worldwide access to high-quality education from the MENA region’s premier educational institution. We look forward to building on the success of this partnership to create more opportunities for our alumni and for our future alumni.”
