In the emerging economies of the Global South, the daily challenges of transportation can be overwhelming. In TRU, we are focused on addressing issues such as inadequate public transportation, high car ownership, and walkability. We are looking for innovative solutions in the areas of mobility services for specific groups and urban areas, while improving travel well-being. In one of our research tracks, we study the effects of aggressiveness, stress, and attention on driving performance using a driving simulator, with an eye towards engineering solutions that will improve road safety. Our research lies at the intersection of civil engineering, urban planning, economics, business, human factors and psychology.
