The Glass Collections Journey After Beirut Blast: Glass bowl (Inventory# 3925)


​Beautiful blue glass bowl (Inventory# 3925)

Do you remember the fate of the glass artefacts from the AUB Archaeological Museum?

Here is how they used to look like before the August 4 blast!

Following the rescue/recovery mission at the AUB Museum, 15 pieces only are restorable out of a total of 72 shattered glass pieces.

One of them, a beautiful blue glass bowl (4.5 x 12.8 cm) from the mid-roman period (1st-4th c. AD), with a flat base and decorated with 54 curved ribs around its body.
