EXPLORE THE REGENERATIVE PLANNING PROGRAM
Regenerative planning is an innovative field that focuses on not only conserving nature but also restoring and regenerating it through holistic approaches. Unlike traditional sustainability, which aims for neutral impacts on nature, regenerative planning strives for a net positive effect on natural systems (Jensen Plus, 2023; Patalia & Gabbianelli, 2024). Furthermore, this integrated planning approach which focuses on stakeholder engagement, policy integration, and sustainable practices can contribute to enhancing the Sustainable Development Goals (UN-Habitat, 2024). This ensures effective conservation and regeneration aligned with community well-being and economic development.
To advance knowledge and practices related to regenerative planning, the RP program embodies an approach which creates restorative and positive change for local environments, communities, and economies. It promotes thriving living systems in which whole-system health and resiliency increase continually. This program aims to adopt regenerative practices through an integrated multisectoral approach in both urban and natural environments. We will engage with different governance and spatial scales to enable system-wide change.
