Abstract

Introduction: Sage is an evergreen shrub that grows up to an average of one meter in height. Their scented and nectar-rich flowers are hermaphrodite (i.e. they have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by bees. The plant prefers lots of sunlight and light (sandy) to medium (loamy) welldrained soils. It does not do well in shady habitats (www.ibiblio.org 2000).
