It was a tightly contested race among 123 teams (2 participants per team) from 17 universities from Bulgaria, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Russia, Serbia, and Turkey until the decisive last question in the 2016 International Organic Chemistry Competition (OC4) cast the winners!
The monetary cash awards for the first four prizes were: $1,500 for the first prize, $1,000 for the second prize, $500 for the third prize, aQnd $300 for the fourth prize.
A Sudden Death Round after Round 2 decided the first two prizes.
The four winning teams of OC4 are:
- FIRST PRIZE (178 points): Toghrul Almammadov and Tolga Yaman from Middle East Technical University, Turkey
- SECOND PRIZE (178 points): Tsvetelin Iliev and Pavel Kostadinov from Sofia University, Bulgaria
- THIRD PRIZE (162 points): Edgar Makarov and Bogdan Rodin from Novosibirsk State University, Russia
- FOURTH PRIZE (142 points): Abdulrahman Al Kotob and Hussein Khalifeh from the Lebanese American University, Lebanon
