ERASMUS+ FACULTY AND STAFF MOBILITY

Erasmus+ Funding: Teaching Mobility and Professional Staff Development

Erasmus+ is the new EU programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport for the period 2021-2027. This seven year programme will have a budget of €25.9 billion to boost skills and employability as well as modernising education, training and youth work. Erasmus+ brings together seven existing EU programmes in the fields of education, training and youth and introduces sport for the first time. As an integrated programme, Erasmus+ will support transnational partnerships and will offer more opportunities for cooperation across these areas and will be easier to access than its predecessors, with simplified funding rules.
Through funding from the EU programme Erasmus+ all employees have the opportunity to visit one of AUB's many partner universities in Europe to gain international experience and qualifications, and to develop existing contacts.

TEACHING MOBILITY

Teaching staff can receive funding for teaching, lecturing, seminars, supervision and  examination at a partner university in Europe. The funding includes an amount based on the length of stay abroad, and a travel grant based on the distance between the home and host universities, in accordance with the EU Commission distance calculator. The mobility requires the teaching staff member to deliver  a minimum of eight hours of teaching per week, over at least two days per week or part of a week. The maximum amount of time is generally 2–3 weeks.

STAFF MOBILITY
All full-time employees at AUB can receive funding for job shadowing, such as participating in the daily work at a partner university, business or organization.  The funding includes an amount based on the length of the stay abroad, and a travel grant. The duration is usually 5 days, however, depending on the agreement with our partner university, the duration of the stay may vary.

FUNDING
Fund transfer is usually made by the host University to the participant's bank account. Bank transfer or other fees may be deducted from this amount. Grants might take time to be transferred to your account, and in some cases delays may occur. However, it may differ from one university to another depending on the country regulations. In some cases, you might receive your grant in cash upon arrival at the host university, or in some other form such as a debit card. Therefore, you might have to pay for your ticket and hotel in advance from your own personal account.

Also note that the grant money is a fixed amount and in some cases may not fully cover all your expenses. In such cases, you will have to cover the extra charges by yourself.
