The Office of International Programs Student Mentor Program was established to help ease the transition of international students into the AUB and Lebanese communities. Current AUB students, both undergraduate, and graduate, serve as mentors to all international students, whether they are visiting or degree-seeking students. The mentors guide international students during orientation week and plan social and cultural events throughout the semester. They are available to international students at any point to answer questions about navigating AUB logistics, getting involved on campus, finding housing, getting around Beirut and Lebanon, and anything else they might need. Mentors are also excited to help ease international students into the social fabric of AUB and the community by planning activities and trips both in Beirut and around the country. International students make fast friends with their Mentors and have a great support system as they adjust to life in Beirut.
Meeting your Mentor and Staying Connected
All accepted international students will be matched with a mentor before arrival on campus. You can expect to hear from your mentor via email about one week before orientation. You will meet him or her in person at your orientation program at the beginning of the semester.
Please join our AUB Internationals group to stay connected to the OIP Student mentor team and other international students at AUB. We also encourage you to follow OIP on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to receive notifications regarding your arrival and to stay updated on all events and announcements. There will be activities and trips throughout the year so keep your notifications on to get quick updates!
