On Thursday October 10th, 2019, the Office of International Programs at AUB held its fourth annual Study Abroad Fair. Students enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about study abroad and exchange opportunities.
Students met with representatives from partner universities and funding agencies and connected with study abroad alumni and international students currently studying at AUB. Faculty and staff were able to learn more about Erasmus+ mobility programs available to them.
The fair hosted partners and students representing institutions in Europe, North America, MENA and other regions. Partner representatives came from the Danish School of Media and Journalism, Freie Universität Berlin, International University (IE), John Cabot University, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, University of California-Berkeley, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Education USA, Educom Overseas, Estonian Consulate, SAI Study Abroad, and Ambassade de France au Liban. Students volunteered to represent Aarhus University, Amherst College, Freie Universität Berlin, Institut d'Etudes Politique (Sciences Po), International University (IE), London School of Economics and Political Science, Pembroke College, Politecnico di Torino, Stanford University (International Honors Program), Universita Bocconi, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, University of Bologna, University of California-Berkeley, and University of Zurich.
A total of 429 students, faculty and staff attended the fair, a 7.25 % increase in attendance compared to last year. The Office of International Programs also launched its “Why Study Abroad" booklet that day which OIP staff distributed to attendees. This comprehensive booklet covers information ranging from student and faculty testimonials, to eligibility requirements, FAQs, available programs, as well as study abroad planning tips and a useful timeline.
The annual Study Abroad Fair is a celebration of OIP's dedication to internationalization and global education.
