Another reason to join AUB!
AUB international students are being introduced to the local culture and traditions with trips to touristic and historic sights thanks to the OIP International Student Mentor Program
Mentors guided their mentees on a tour of Harissa (Our Lady of Lebanon) where they rode in a cable car up the hill and admired the view of the coast and the Mediterranean sea as they reached the top to get to the statue. This touristic site is popular for locals from all walks of life. The trip ended with a traditional Lebanese lunch, introducing students from different parts of the world to the heart of Lebanese hospitality: the food!
Another trip was planned soon after to the seaside towns of Jbeil and Batroun where students were introduced to Lebanese traditional architecture: stone houses, red tile roofs, arched windows, and little balconies adorned with overgrown plants. After, they enjoyed two local delights, a delicious chocolate brioche and a cup of ice-cold lemonade!
