OIP Internship Call 2021-22 Spring

​​​​​The Office of International Programs promotes international education and diversity at AUB by initiating, developing and administering institutional partnerships that foster incoming and outgoing student, faculty and staff mobility. OIP currently offers a Spring internship opportunity in the position of Social Media Officer. We encourage students from any country to apply.

​​A. QUALIFI​​CATIONS 

Applicants for this internship should be currently pursuing their Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree at the American University of Beirut.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Canva, Linktree, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) is a must.

Knowledge of OIP’s website is a must.

Consistent and punctual communication with OIP’s Director and Associate Director is a must.

Required soft skills: team-player, initiative, adaptability, commitment, communication skills (verbal and written), enthusiasm, determination, dependability, organizational skills, responsibility & reliability.

B. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Intern has access to OIP social media platforms and contributes to day-to-day promotion of OIP’s programs (posts, stories, captions…) under the supervision of the Director and Associate Director.

2) The Social Media Intern meets virtually or in-person with the Director and Associate Director on a weekly basis to follow up on ongoing projects and plans.

3) Intern collaborates with students and OIP Mentors to solicit engagement on social media.

4) Intern will update OIP Social Media URL List at every post or website update.

5) Intern will produce a Social Media Performance Assessment Report on a semester basis​.

6) Intern will work o​​n promotion​​ project plans for:

           a. Testimonial post​s and videos from study abroad alumni and international students at AUB

           b. Posts and videos of international universities


           c. Posts for OIP​​ events, AUB events, international announcements and competitions

7) Design promotional material on Canva that will be shared on OIP’s social media platforms.

8) Perform data entry and analysis on different statistics.

9) Brainstorm new project ideas to further OIP’s reach among AUB students and international partners and engage with students.

Deadline for application: Wednesday Jan 12, 2022

The in-person internship is for the Spring Term, starting on January 20, 2022 and ending on May 18, 2022. Extension is negotiable. 

F. SUPPORT/BENEFITS 

Campus benefits: OIP will provide interns with a desk in one of OIP’s office and internet connection.

Certificate of completion: OIP will provide interns with a certificate upon completion of the internship.
