The Career Management Services at the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business is organizing its first talent conference, "Quest for Talent: Unleashing Potential in the Age of Disruption," on October 5 and 6 with emphasis on how AI and disruptive technologies in addition to other geopolitical changes affect the job market in the MENA region and globally and the new dynamics of talent acquisition, development, and retention.
This conference brings together academia, employers, business leaders, and graduates from various disciplines and sectors to explore the changing landscape of the job market. The primary objective is to engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange of knowledge and experience to bridge the gaps between different stakeholders' needs and serve the labor market in the MENA region and globally.
The conference specifically addresses the significance of digital transformation and innovation and examines the extent to which they can be acquired and be part of the emerging new skill set. Recognizing the shifting nature of the job market, it is crucial to be proactive and anticipate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be developed to meet the expectations of all parties involved.
The next day starts with a plenary session focusing on the influence of AI on selected industries and functional divisions within the firm. Parallel panel discussions will then explore emerging job opportunities in various sectors such as Finance & Investment, Marketing, Human resources, Data Science, Sustainability, Operations, and Company Strategy with a specific focus on the required talent and emerging jobs.
Furthermore, the event features exhibition booths where various university centers, including Executive Education, Graduate Program, Career Management Services, and WAAAUB, can showcase their activities. Moreover, sponsors have the exclusive privilege of hosting their own booths to promote their services and products.
Additionally, networking event sessions will take place on the second day, during which sponsors can connect with the attendees, offering insights about their companies and sharing potential job opportunities.
