At nursing school, Jaafar developed a passion for all aspects of healthcare. With A.I. and digital technology, healthcare analytics has gained growing importance. That is why he decided to pursue a Master’s in Business Analytics (MSBA) at the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) at the American University of Beirut, since it enables him to combine his knowledge in healthcare and data analytics to improve sustainability, at both the patient and institutional level.
Jaafar mentions, “Vitally, the Business Understanding course in the MSBA program is fundamental: it is important to understand the business process in order to provide solutions, especially in messy business situations. As was the Data Visualization and Communication module, where an analyst must be able to communicate a solution to an audience using the right visualizations and the appropriate words, otherwise the insight would not seem convincing to the client.”
The MSBA program enables students to combine their professional background knowledge, including unusual-to-find nurse graduates like himself, pursuing further education in a field that combines the required business and analytics skills to grow and innovate in today’s market. Jaafar adds, “The exceptional professors and faculty members at OSB provide proper guidance for students of all backgrounds to excel, and provided me with the skills necessary to communicate my message and solutions more effectively with people from different professions.”
