About the Speaker
Alain Bifani is presently the managing partner of SCPA Conseil and the president of the Lebanese Citizen Foundation. He is a member of the Trilateral Commission. He was previously director general of the ministry of Finance, where he worked on reorganizing the administration, and rebuilding the financial accounts of Lebanon over 28 years. In 2020, Alain prepared the government's financial recovery plan. Alain served as the alternate governor of Lebanon at the World Bank and chaired the G24 for three terms. He also successfully led Lebanon’s bid to join the EBRD. Alain studied math and physics at Louis-le-Grand, graduated as a physicist engineer from Ecole Superieure d’Optique, before graduating from HEC Paris with a major in Finance.

Lebanon is alleged to enjoy a non-trivial supply of oil and gas in its shores. Can such a supply be a panacea for the country's woes, or are such claims exaggerated? The presentation aims to debunk myths surrounding oil and gas in Lebanon, while providing a realistic roadmap for the optimal utilization of Oil and Gas in a way that maximizes the economic return for Lebanon.
