The Business Students Society (BSS) has launched the Local Support System, an initiative to support Lebanese startups and businesses. As part of this program, BSS created #StartupSunday to promote those businesses on their Instagram stories and website every Sunday, to increase exposure.
“Given the current economic situation, we in BSS believed that it is of utmost importance to re-channel our activities in a direction that revives businesses in Lebanon. To achieve this, we found that supporting local startups would be a great start. We utilized our social media channels to provide these startups with the additional necessary exposure to help reach potential customers. To help sustain their profits, we pushed them towards exploring possibly untouched customer territory, and expand their outreach within the Lebanese community,” commented Cabinet Member Ali Cheet.
“We love being a part of Start-Up Sunday. As a business with an audience of mainly university students, it has been a very exciting experience getting to know the BSS family at AUB. Being on this platform helped us be part of a warm community of Lebanese business owners, which we believe should be strengthened, especially due to the circumstances in Lebanon,” enthused Jinan Jadayel, co-founder of Local Support System startup Soie Pure.
