The Darwazah Center for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship supports entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs (within companies) to take their ideas to the next level through the BUSS 350 D – Venture Building Practicum course.
This is a 4-months graduate course that provides early-stage startups with experiential learning and offers learning-by-doing and systematic way to develop and launch a venture by focusing on having the right problem-solution fit and proper product-market fit from the ground up, while making sure the venture has adequate market size.
The BUSS 350 D – Venture Building Practicum gives entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs the tools to develop their value proposition and validate it, develop their Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and fine-tune their skills to pitch their startup ideas to investors.
The 16 sessions the BUSS 350 D – Venture Building Practicum teams attend consist of 25% theoretical knowledge where they learn the principles of lean venture or startup design and 75% of hands-on assessment of Product-Market Fit of the Venture/Startup.
The BUSS 350 D – Venture Building Practicum was featured by AACSB during its EMEA Annual Conference in 2018, which was held at the ESCP Europe Business School in Paris, France and during its Middle East Summit, which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dr. Bijan Azad presented the course as part of a session highlighting what other schools can learn from the experience of the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business at the American University of Beirut.
