Women in governance working group is an act under the
Rami F. Makhzoumi Corporate Governance Initiative in the
purpose of empowering women in governance positions.
Cultures are so different except for one thing, which is gender inequality. Women are not making it to the top of all positions particularly to the boardrooms, of all the people in the world only 15%- 16% of women sit on board seats, and this has not moved since 2002, on the contrary it is going in the wrong direction.
Within the women working group at the Rami F. Makhzoumi Corporate Governance Initiative, we are trying to be a force of change. We are working on different initiatives to promote women in governance and leadership positions at a time when gender bias is more alive than most of us may want to admit.
