The Department Chair Initiatives, led by the Office of the Provost, are part of AUB’s broader leadership development framework and are designed to support department chairs in their academic and administrative roles. They provide a collegial and supportive platform for chairs to connect, share experiences, and engage in thoughtful reflection on leadership within the University. The initiatives include Department Chairs’ Day, as well as a series of bi-monthly workshops that bring chairs together for focused dialogue and learning. Through facilitated conversations and peer exchange, these gatherings address key aspects of departmental leadership, including governance, faculty development, academic planning, and effective decision-making.
