Multiple Faculty and Research Positions
The American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions (all ranks) and academic/research staff positions (professionals, entrepreneurs, research fellows) in the following focus areas:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computational Science
- Data Analytics
- Machine Learning
- Network Science
- Operations Research
Expertise span theory and applications across various faculties/schools and cross-cutting disciplines that include: technology and innovation, health and basic sciences, sustainability and development, risk and resilience, business logistics and marketing science, finance and economics, education, philosophy, literature, and the arts.
The Interdisciplinary Cluster Hiring initiative stems from the university’s
VITAL 2030 Strategic Plan and will shape and advance the newly established
Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Computing Hub, through which impactful large-scale team research can coalesce with high visibility and an internationally recognized signature. The new recruits will join a cluster of excellence to form a critical mass to: i. address complex problems and challenges facing humanity and society at the local, regional and global levels; ii. deliver interdisciplinary academic offerings (degree programs, diplomas, and short courses); and iii. impact communities through effective outreach activities.
Founded in 1866, the
American University of Beirut bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB is
accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and its
faculties/schools have earned accreditation from accrediting bodies for their programs. AUB has over 800 full-time faculty members and 8,000 students from more than 60 countries, and offers programs leading to the bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The student body is around 50 percent women, and the language of instruction is English. In 2022, AUB ranks
242nd in the QS World University Rankings and 73rd worldwide in Graduate Employability. The University is currently working towards
establishing twin campuses and hubs in key strategic countries over the next two to five years to expand impact and extend outreach.
Compensation: AUB provides compensation in the form of salary and benefits. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers an extensive benefits package, including 100% tuition support for children of full-time faculty, from KG through Bachelor's degree.
