The provost is responsible for setting institutional academic and research priorities that advance the mission of the university. The provost works closely with the president, deans, associate provost(s), and other senior administrators to develop and implement the university’s long-term academic and budgetary planning and management strategies. Initiating and supporting diverse activities, the provost seeks input from faculty, students, staff, and alumni to ensure meaningful engagement in fulfilling strategic goals. The provost also oversees the administration of the university's academic support units and its interfaculty research centers and teaching units.
