ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Residency in pathology and laboratory medicine at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore- US
  • Fellowship in surgical pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York
  • Dr. Zaatari has held faculty position at Emory University in Atlanta (1982-1986) and associate director of Anatomic Pathology at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas (1986-1995) before returning to AUB in 1995
  • Author of numerous publications, book chapters and a book of pathology.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • The surgical pathology of neoplasms; Tobacco Control 

MEMBERSHIP

  • Dr. Zaatari is a member of several local, regional and international pathology societies
  • A member of the Education Committee of the International Academy of Pathology (IAP)
  • Secretary of the Arab Division of IAP​
  • Pivotal in the establishment of the Arab School of Pathology
  • A member of Tobacco Laboratory  Network (TobLabNet) and ISOT126/10​WG.
