AUB Community Participation

In September 2017, a group of around 30 volunteers from among the members of the AUB community (faculty, staff, and students) joined efforts with the Tobaccofree Task Force in order to make AUB a healthier campus for all.

The volunteers were divided into two groups and attended two training workshops that were held by the Health Promotion and Community Health Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences.  The role of the volunteers consists mainly of monitoring smoking behaviors on campus and collecting data for research and analysis.  They also support the task force in the policy enforcement by raising awareness about the new Tobacco-Free AUB Policy, referring smokers to the Smoking Cessation Program when asked, and advocating about the policy in their surroundings.
