Graduates and Ph.Ds

As part of their education, AUB students will have access to the University Libraries’ (Jafet and the branch libraries-Science & Agriculture and Engineering & Architecture) wide range of services to aid them in their research and in using the library resources.

Borrowing Privileges

  • PhD candidates may borrow up to 50 items for one semester. Graduates may borrow up to 25 items for 8 weeks. All items may be renewed online. Check here for more details.
  • A reminder message is automatically sent one week before due date informing the borrower that the item need to be returned or renewed.
  • Failure to return borrowed items will incur a fine of $1.00 per day. Lost items should be reported immediately.
  • The patron will be blocked from borrowing until the item is returned.
  • For additional information, contact, ext. 2618/2619.

Renew my borrowed books - My Library Account
You may renew your borrowed books online, by logging in to My Library Account in the Library Catalog.

    Notification of Overdue Materials
Library materials are due on the date indicated on the date due slip as stated when borrowed, or as noted on the online renewal screen in My Library Account.

Kindly note that the library is sending reminders and overdue notices as a courtesy. Failure to receive the notices does not relieve the borrower of the obligation to return or renew the borrowed materials by the due date, does not justify a reduction in fines or even exempt the borrower from paying late fees.

    Recall Policy
If requested by another borrower, the University Libraries reserve the right to recall borrowed books after at least two weeks of use. When a library material is recalled, a recall notice will automatically be sent to the borrower’s AUB email informing him/her that the material is needed by another borrower and asking him/her to return it within one week. Failure to return a recalled item within the seven days period will incur a fine of $1.00 per day (faculty exempted), and the patron will be blocked from borrowing until the item is returned. When the borrowed item is returned to the library, the requesting user is notified by email and the item is put on hold for him for no longer that 72 hours.
