USP Scholar Mohamad Neaymeh, Supports AUB Mastercard Foundation (MCF) Scholars to Implement their Community-Based Projectin Akkar.

USAID-funded scholarship student at the American University of Beirut, Mohamad Neaymeh, joined a group of AUB Mastercard Foundation (MCF) scholars to help them implement their community-based project (CBP) entitled “Back Home: Reviving Syrian Heritage through Technical Skills” in Al Maymouna Education located in Berkayel, Akkar.

Mohamad, along with other volunteers, supported in the preparation and delivery of experiential learning activities to Syrian refugee children aged between 12 and 15. The project activities utilized tools such as Google Sites, PowerPoint, Canva, amongst others, to teach refugee learners how to showcase various cultural and historical aspects of their home country.

Mohamad, majoring in computer science, perceived this activity as an opportunity to apply and transfer skills he acquired in the classroom. He reflected after this experience that education is not only about increasing one’s knowledge, but also about sharing what you learn with others and positively impacting them, especially the most vulnerable.
