Sixty-five USAID-funded HES scholarship cycle III regular, as well as University Preparatory Program (UPP) students underwent their first Information Technology workshop between the 2nd and 14th of September 2021.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Joseph Rahme who expertly introduced the participants to the most recent Learning Management Systems currently being used at the American University of Beirut, from Moodle, to Zoom, to WebEx, among many others. The workshop also covered key areas related to IT, namely, data storage and cyber-security awareness.
The workshop was conducted via Zoom for regular students between the 4th and 9th of September, and for the UPP students, between the 9th and the 13th. When asked for feedback, one student mentioned: “Now, I have cleared some misconceptions about storage of data, information, and applications. Moreover, this workshop has put useful tactics in usage of emails, zoom, and WebEx. It has led me to match jobs and even know more about the careers a person in the IT field can pursue.”
