Writing plays a vital role in the intellectual work of the university. We invite you to spend time with scholars at the American University of Beirut as they talk about writing in their academic disciplines, learning to write in different languages, and guidance they offer to their students. These interviews highlight the expertise and creativity of AUB faculty members as they teach and conduct research at boundaries of disciplinary, linguistic, and sociocultural differences. We hope the discussions presented here will inspire students and stimulate meaningful conversations around writing and learning at AUB.
The interviews were conducted by Amy Zenger, a researcher in rhetoric and composition, and John Pill, a researcher in applied linguistics and language testing. The project was funded by grants from the Center for Teaching and Learning at the American University of Beirut and a generous private donation.
