Mitra Tauk is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer and Title IX coordinator at the American University of Beirut (AUB).
She is leading the anti-sexual harassment and anti-discriminatory harassment initiatives at AUB with the main objective of maintaining a safe, equitable, diverse, and inclusive educational and professional environment for all members of the AUB community.
For ten years, she served as an administrative coordinator of the Graduate Public Health Program at AUB’s Faculty of Health Sciences where she also supported and advised the faculty’s students.
Mitra has a BA in law from La Sagesse University, a Diplôme Inter Universitaire (DIU) in medical law from the University of Lorraine, a master’s in international humanitarian health law from Montpellier University, and MSc in public health from AUB. She is also a PhD candidate at University de Lyon, specialty in law and management of health and social structures - health law with a focus on patient rights in different jurisdictions.
Mitra is certified by the American Association for Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) in Title IX coordination, civil rights investigation, and is also trained on dealing with gender identity on campus. She is currently affiliated with the Center for Inclusive Business and Leadership for Women.
In her free time, Mitra enjoys painting and playing violin.
