The Daniel Bliss Society was established in 1986 and is named for Daniel Bliss, AUB's founder and first president (1866-1902). Daniel Bliss spoke and wrote often during his life about how the survival and early success of the Syrian Protestant College, as AUB was originally known, depended on “the loving thought, the firm purpose, [and] the liberal gifts of men far beyond the sea and ocean." AUB is still sustained by “liberal" gifts from men and women whose generous contributions support AUB's mission to serve the peoples of the Middle East and beyond. These individuals are the backbone of the Daniel Bliss Society.

What Daniel Bliss Society Members Support:

Gifts from Daniel Bliss Society members enhance academic and faculty programs, laboratories, libraries, student services, and financial aid awards. Donors can be confident in the knowledge that their gifts benefit today's students and help guarantee a bright future for Lebanon and the region.

Join the Daniel Bliss Society:

You can become a member of the Daniel Bliss Society by contributing $1,000 or more annually to one of AUB's four annual funds (Alumni Fund, Parents Fund, Faculty and Staff Fund, and Friends Fund.). Daniel Bliss Society Members are recognized at the following levels:

• Green Field Circle ($1,000 - $4,999) 
  

• Green Oval Circle ($5,000 - $9,999)

• West Hall Circle ($10,000 - $24,999)

• Assembly Hall Circle ($25,000 - $49,999)

• Main Gate Circle ($50,000+)   
  

Youth Leadership Membership:

To encourage recent graduates to join the Daniel Bliss Society, AUB has established a special category of membership for AUB alumni who have received their undergraduate degree from AUB within the last ten years (and are younger than 30 years old). If you make a Youth Leadership gift (between $100 and $500 depending on year of graduation), you will automatically qualify for membership in the Green Field Circle. Recent graduates who contribute $1,000 or more annually to one of AUB's four annual funds will qualify for membership in the Green Field, Green Oval, West Hall, Assembly Hall, or Main Gate Circles as detailed above.
