The purpose of this clerkship is to expose the students to the philosophy, principles, and practice of family medicine, emphasizing the bio-psychosocial model. It upgrades the medical students’ knowledge of common problems and their skills in the application of preventive medicine in the ambulatory care setting. Students see patients under supervision in the Family Medicine Clinics, other community satellite clinics, and inpatient setting. They also conduct site visits to community based health programs to gain exposure to the various resources available in the community. Mandatory 4 weeks to fourth year students.
