Stories

The Visitors Bureau welcomes more than 1,100 visitors from dozens of countries to campus each year. We know that many others visit our campus informally. Some are curious to see for themselves what it is about our campus that attracts worldwide recognition. For others, our campus is a very familiar place where they used to live and/or work.

Everyone who visits our campus has an interesting story to tell. We love to hear them. Some of our visitors have stories that we think you might be interested in hearing as well.

    • In summer 2019, 22 members of the Dodd and Cruikshank families visited Lebanon as part of a month-long family reunion. They made several visits to our campus—a place they knew well. Here is their story.
    • In September 2019, former AUB President Stephen B.L. Penrose, Jr.'s family visited campus for the re-dedication of Penrose Hall. For Steve and Dale, it was also a homecoming: they lived on campus with their parents and sister, Polly, for seven years. Here is their story.
