REvitalization of Sustainable Tourism Across Regions in The MEDiterranean - RESTART MED! – is a project co-financed by the European Union under the “Mediterranean Sea Basin" program for cross-border cooperation funded by the European Neighborhood Instrument (
ENI CBC MED).
RESTART MED! Is a 2-years project aiming to stress the crucial role of the tourism sector in the Mediterranean, by developing and promoting sustainable tourism products. Specifically, the project will compile, promote, scale up, and add value to the results of previous sustainable tourism projects located in the Mediterranean. Restart Med! will approach the sector from a broad perspective and, therefore, will analyze areas such as adventure tourism, slow tourism, games and video games, gastronomy, cultural heritage, etc.
The project is led by the
Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP) in Italy, in partnership with the
Barcelona Chamber of Commerce (BCC) in Spain, the
Catalan Tourism Board (CTB) in Spain, the
American University of Beirut (AUB) in Lebanon, the
Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Jordan, and the
World Wildlife Fund Mediterranean North Africa (WWF - MNA) in Tunisia.
The foreseen budget for the project implementation is €1,111,108.55, the European Union through the ENI CBC MED program undertakes to finance a maximum of €999,997.70, equivalent to 90 percent of the budget.
