  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. What is Industrial Engineering?

IE is concerned with the design and improvement of various systems including services (in retailing, healthcare, and finance), logistics, manufacturing, transportation, and much more. Essentially IEs (also known as systems doctors) make things better. IE draws upon specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences.
