Cases are used to put students in the context of a business dilemma, allowing them to apply the concepts learned in the classroom to real-life situations. The case method is a powerful learning tool, as students better recall concepts applied to a case, than theory. Engaging students with cases promotes the development of skills such as decision-making, problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and judgement, all boosting employability.
These skills are particularly relevant in a highly competitive job market especially that many businesses use case solving as part of their recruitment process.
The Suliman S. Olayan School of Business’ students wishing to further their case solving skills beyond the classroom may participate in various case related activities on campus.
